RAOSAHEB GURAV ——– A LEGENDARY ARTIST

Artist Raosaheb Gurav completed his diploma in Fine Arts from Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya, Pune in 1970 and thereafter he became an Art master. He worked as a Master of Fine Arts in the same institute and after 40 years of service, he retired as a Principal of Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya, Pashan, Pune.

He is an artist who is evergreen and always engrossed in his work,irrespective of the amount of work or his age. Once again he is exhibiting his art works ‘A Journey through colours’  at a very prestigious venue Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Chairman of Delta Corp Limited –Mr Jaydev Mody on 3^rd January.

The exhibition will be on display till 8^th January from 11.00 am to 7.00 pm. Now all of us are very excited to know which of the paintings will be presented in this One Man Exhibition. Because his collection has been so huge till now the art lovers are curious about something new. The exhibition “Harmony in Hues” by renowned artist Deepak Patil is being held at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai, from January 1 to 7, 2024. Deepak Patil has been practicing realistic paintings for many years, gaining dominance in the field with his realistic depictions influenced by various mediums. Despite the challenges of using oil, acrylic and watercolors, Patil has excelled, captivating art enthusiasts with intricate details in his realistic artworks.

This show was inaugurated on 1st January 2024  by the Honorable Guest Mrs. Yamini Yashwant Jadhav (MLA Byculla) in the presence of Mrs. Rimple Bhavesh Parekh Designated Partner Shaurya Arts LLP.

Notably, Deepak Patil’s expertise extends beyond realistic paintings and nature art; he has successfully utilized mixed media and watercolors to depict the rich cultural life of Rajasthan. His unique approach to portraying the distinctiveness of the region within the realm of art has garnered widespread admiration.

Patil’s art transcend even in challenging mediums like oil, acrylic, watercolors, he has left an indelible mark. His exceptionally detailed depictions of the Himalayan landscape, rich in nature and spirituality, showcase his mastery in watercolor and mixed medium. The unique use of colors in his paintings has resonated well with art connoisseurs, making this exhibition a display of unparalleled discovery.

In addition to his prowess in traditional art, Deepak Patil has made notable contributions to the field of animation. From projects like “Hanuman” and “Sherlock Holmes” to studios such as “Silvertune,” “Crest,” and “Illusion” in Mumbai, as well as working on serials like “King” through “Escortoon” in Delhi, Patil has left an imprint in the animation industry.

Focusing solely on the canvas, Patil’s art became a symphony of colours, captivating art lovers globally, In 2019, at the ‘Olympia Art’ International Competition, India, led by Patil, secured first place and a gold medal in ‘Composition and Landscape,’ triumphing over Russia.

Since 2007, Patil has dedicated his full time to the world of art. He is an active member of Sanskar Bharati organization. He has participated in the spot landscape study tour organized by Art Society of India  under the guidance of Shri Vasudeo Kamath and  Vijay Aachrekar (eminent artists). Deepak Patil has earned accolades in national and international competitions.

S. Rane, born in Talera (Maharashtra) in 1952, presents a collection that delves into the depths of his subconscious, unearthing human forms with a rustic quality. Unlike photographic realism, Rane’s stylized canvases exude vibrancy reminiscent of frescoes, showcasing a universal appeal transcending geographical boundaries.

Rane’s figures, with a touch of innocence, transport viewers into a visual poetry reminiscent of miniatures. His artistic journey, marked by faultless draughtsmanship, began with a 1st Class in G.D. Art, Mumbai, in 1977, followed by several successful solo shows at Jehangir Art Gallery and beyond. He had more than 100 solo and group exhibitions in India & abroad.

Rane has won many national and international awards in his artistic journey from last four decades. His paintings have been exhibited in South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, London etc. He has successfully participated in the camp organized by Lalit Kala Akademi. The collection of the National Gallery of Modern Art in Delhi includes Rane’s paintings. Also, his paintings are included in the collections of galleries in Paris, Singapore. Pratibha Wagh’s Enchanting Canvases

An artist of any discipline first sees the idea manifest in his mind and then begins his expression of it. Mrs. Pratibha Wagh celebrates nature in her mind before giving it a form to be enjoyed by its beholders. Her paintings of nature are resplendent with the rich influences of Madhubani, Chitrakathi and Indian miniature paintings. The resultant style inherently demands a rather difficult merger of detailing and precision while the size of her canvas doesn’t allow her the liberty of being artistically vague, it does insist upon sharp precision of strokes that are at once bold and light. Mrs. Wagh manages this tightrope walk with consummate ease. Her paintings give you a distinctly joyous experience of a dreamlike state, and their old world. In the realm of art an artist always gets inspiration from the environment and entourage he lives in. Artist Madhavi Joshi  Engineer by qualification and Artist by passion graduated in Fine Arts Painting from  Pune University has a unique style depicting spiritual Indian mythological idols and Hindu iconography through her paintings .

She has exhibited her work through 25+ solo and  100+group exhibitions in famous galleries in India and abroad and achieved more than 10 awards.

While proficient in acrylic on canvas and ink on paper, Kumavat has pioneered a unique style in line art, favoring suggestive forms over realistic representation. The interplay of various drawing forms, content, and technique culminates in a breathtaking body of work.

In addition to his artistic pursuits, Chandrashekhar Shravan Kumavat also imparts his knowledge and expertise as a lecturer at Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya in Pune. In his own words, “A spontaneous expression of feelings through a certain medium can be called ART.” Kumavat draws parallels between an artist’s creative process and the natural world, emphasizing the significance of elements such as Light, Color, Space, Rhythm, and Movement. Each stroke of the brush or pen not only conveys the artist’s ideas but also reflects their inner state to the external world, contributing to the evolution of cultural perspectives.
